In Russian Federation, the death rate from this syndrome in the range of 0.06 to 2.8 per 1000 live births. In Stavropol region, average figures are equal to 0,36 per 1000 live births in the period of 2005–2014. The maximum recorded rate was 0.53 per 1,000 in 2012, while the minimum was observed in 2007 (0.23 per 1,000).
